IoT is a term that has been misused and misunderstood as many times as 'cloud computing' or now 'AI'. Siemens, HP, Honeywell, Cisco are all rushing in. Local Chinese companies are not far behind. China, as the manufacturing capital of the world, is well poised to take advantage of IoT to make its factories more efficient.
