- Started his career at Citigroup but quit after 2 weeks to follow his heart
- Joined Enfield where he worked till 1991
- An innovator and enterpreneur at heart, started Viswapriya, a non-banking finance company in 1991
- At Viswapriya, he was instrumental for many of the innovation like debenture consolidation, asset securitization, IPO financing
- Started Subhiksha in Chennai in 1997 with a modest 1000 sq. ft store at an investment of Rs 4 lakh. His philosophy was simple: provide consumers daily need products at the lowest price
- Today Subhiksha operates more than 1000 stores in 90 cities
